The excellent newspaper WSJ.com reports the new Dietary Guidelines Call for More Exercise, Less Food. Every five years, the US Department of Agriculture issues the new dietary guidelines and guess what – this edition the obesity fight has made its mark. Americans should eat less calories, aiming for about 2,000 a day. Also they should eat more vegetables: fruits and vegetables should fill half the plate Have you seen that in a MacDonalds meal? Another suggestion is taking in more fish instead of fast food and drink more water instead of soda drinks. The latter is in order to fight the added sugars. Not only in drinks, but also in sauces, dressings for salads and many more food sources. Another danger is the level of salt in prepared meals that should be reduced, and arrangements already are made with the industry. Most importantly seems to be a change in lifestyle!
