Doing what you need to do

A humorous notice in the Bat Enclosure, Bristo...

Image via Wikipedia

A tale. Next to the Bristol zoo, there is a parking. There is a payment machine and a gentle guard who helps to put the fee in the machine, handing the tickets. It is a gentle person and a lot of people got to like him during the years. One day, he was not there anymore. It could happen. The week: no trace of the friendly man at all. Regular visitors also asked where the man was with his smiley face. The management called the community council to inquire about the attendant and the payment machine. ‘This is you business’, was the answer. ‘We don’t have a payment machine on your parking as the parking is your property.’ The manament wondered as they were not aware of a paid parking policy. Who was that friendly man? In about 30 years, this person went through two systems with his smile and created a good business with the parking visitors of the zoo. Now he’s enjoying life. Where? Probably somewhere where the sun shines, enjoying his pension.

What you can learn from this story?

  • Set your goal in the long term and do not be afraid to really have to work hard for it.
  • The business is all about you
  • Be creative, there always is a way to get where you want to
  • Be persistant and consistent

It’s universal. Just do it and know that your success will come. At some time. As the quick win also can disappear very fast.

About joostboers

My passion? Being independent of other people's decisions. I'm horrified with what happens to pensions, or to see that people at relatively are put aside the economy because they simply are too old... at the age of 45+. Do you want to escape this threadmill too? Take action. You can do it.
